What are spider veins?
Spider veins, also known as thread veins are small blood vessels that appear in clusters on the skins surface and are flat to the touch. They appear as thin, red or blue-ish lines, forming a small weblike network on the skin surface. These mainly affect the face but can also affect the body and legs. Spider veins occur when blood pools in veins near the surface of the skin and gets trapped due to weak or damaged valves within the blood vessel.
What causes spider veins?
