Outer Thigh Fat

What is outer thigh fat?

Also known as “Saddle Bags”, outer thigh fat refers to the fat that can accumulate just below your hips underneath the buttocks on the outside of your thighs.  It is usually visible from the front and back. It is usually quite firm.  Outer thigh fat can be the result of either weight gain, genetics, age or hormonal changes.   Outer thigh fat is usually stubborn and doesn’t go away with just diet and exercise.  It can become frustrating if we eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly and we still don’t see the shape we are aiming for.

What causes outer thigh fat?

Outer thigh fat can be the result of either weight gain, genetics, age or hormonal.  The shape and size of outer thighs are not always something we can change. It can become frustrating if we eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly and we still can’t shift the extra fat.

Our treatment solution for reducing outer thigh fat:Outer thigh fat removal treatment & aftercare

Our most popular treatment for outer thigh fat is CoolTech and CoolTech Define fat freezing. Cooltech fat freezing freezes and destroys the fat cells which are then metabolised through your lymphatic system. The process is non-invasive and requires no downtime. During the 70 minute treatment, the fat cells are frozen and destroyed, and then removed gradually through your lymphatic system over the course of a 12 week period leaving you with smoother outer thighs. We use a very specific handpiece that perfectly contours the outer thighs.

The Thigh Contouring Programme – Aftercare for Thigh Fat Removal

There are two types of fat in the legs: subcutaneous and intramuscular fat.

The Thigh Contouring Program involves removing subcutaneous fat as well as a plan for aftercare including diet and exercises to maintain the results as well as enhance them.

Subcutaneous fat is above the muscles, the fat you can squeeze and pinch. To maintain and improve the shape once we remove this fat is through diet to minimize the intramuscular fat. No treatment nor surgical procedure can reduce this type of fat. So this is where maintenance and aftercare come in.

We recommend minimising or eliminating starchy foods and sugar as well as incorporating healthy complex carbs and lots of fresh fruit, vegetables and protein. We try to keep nutrition simple so it is realistic and sustainable. It’s not about just a diet to lose weight, but rather creating a healthy lifestyle. We also tell our clients to always carry a bottle of water and try to drink 1.5 to 2 litres a day. This will also help improve your lymphatic system to reduce dehydration which can lead to swelling in the legs. Water will also help speed up your results as the fat cells are metabolised through your lymphatic system. The other key element of the program is to strengthen and tone the muscles so that once we remove the fat, we enhance the contour.

We recommend certain exercises to tone your muscles but not bulk up. It is important to incorporate both aerobic, anaerobic and weight-bearing exercises.

Aerobic activities that will help burn intramuscular fat are walking, biking and running. You want to get your heart rate up to around 70% of your maximum heart rate (calculate your maximum heart rate by subtracting your age from 220). You should ideally do this 4-5 times a week for 30-45 minutes.

Anaerobic activities are also helpful. A good option is HIIT training. These are short bursts of energy for shorter periods like Jump Squats and Burpees.

Try to incorporate weight-bearing exercises:

Walking lunges:

  1. Stand with your feet hip feet hip-width apart. If you want to use weights, you can hold a small weight in each hand.
  2. Lunge forward with your left leg and make sure your knee doesn’t go past your toes. Your right knee should go down until your knee is about an inch off the ground.
  3. Continue doing this while alternating legs. Do 3 sets of 10-15 times per leg and rest between sets.

Sumo Squats:

  1. Stand with your legs far apart with your toes pointed outward.
  2. Slowly lower into a low squat. Keep your hands on your hips to balance. You can even hold small weights.
  3. Slowly rise back up while squeezing your gluteus muscle, and slightly tuck your hips under.
  4. Do 3 sets of 10 to 15.

Inner thigh leg lift:

  1. Lie on the ground on your left side with your upper back off the ground and rest your upper body on your elbow.
  2. With your legs straight, point your left toe and slowly raise your left leg upwards as high as you can until you can raise it any higher. Feel your inner thigh muscles contracting.
  3. Repeat this 15 times or until you can’t do any more, then switch to your right side.
  4. Do 3 sets on each leg.

There is no quick shortcut to achieving your perfect thighs, but it is so amazing that we now have options to create toned thighs with the shape we want without having to undergo surgery.

Why Choose Marlow Face & Body for your Thigh Fat Removal treatment

We have spent the last nine years working with women to help them achieve their dream thighs. Some women carry their stubborn weight on their upper body, while others carry an extra layer on their thighs. A common goal women are looking for is an inner thigh gap, or even just to smooth out that unfortunate bulge that can causes friction when they walk. Inner thighs can be a sensitive topic for a lot of women. We wonder how some women are blessed to have space between their legs when they stand with their feet and ankles together.

We are all born with a shape that is usually determined by our genetics, and if you consume more calories than you expend, you will most likely accumulate fat in the areas where you tend to hold on to stubborn fat. If you are prone to carrying extra weight on your thighs, then you may find yourself dieting simply to reduce the size and shape of your thighs while losing weight in areas where you don’t want to like your face.

The idea behind CoolTech Fat freezing is you can remove stubborn fat from stubborn areas like your inner thighs, so you can relax a bit with your dieting and focus on being a healthy weight and not have to continuously hone in our your inner thighs.

We have helped hundreds of women through our thigh contouring program. And some women want to focus primarily on their inner thighs. Believe it or not, there is an art to it that entails creating a natural contour that extends from the top of the inner thigh by the groin area right down to the inner knees. If the “bulge” is not localised and continues down to the knees, we can treat multiple areas to achieve a smooth line. We always look at legs as a whole and create natural contours, not just removing a specific area while leaving the rest looking out of context.
