What are large pores?

Enlarged pores are depressions in the skin, mainly on the facial skin surface that contain one or more opening to the ducts that carry sweat and oil from the sebaceous glands. Larger pores are mainly concentrated on the t-zone area of the face.

What causes large pores?

Large pores are more commonly found on people who have oily skin and can worsen with age due to weakened skin laxity and loss of collagen. Factors that may lead to enlarged pores include:

Increased sebum production, normally found on people with oily skin and oily skin conditions such as Acne.
Hair follicle size
Loss of elasticity from loss of collagen and elastin (which keeps the skin tight and supple) due to the ageing process.
Sun damage
